Volunteering has always been about helping other people. Do you realise how much it can help YOU? Volunteering can help you make new friends, increase your confidence, learn new skills, gain work experience and strengthen your CV while making a difference in the community. If you are aged 15+ Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre offers a rewarding experience within a friendly and supportive environment. You don't need experience as training is provided. We can reimburse travel and lunch expenses. We have a variety of opportunities within our Centre’s service areas. Volunteers can help with administration and clerical work, serve customers in our Food Store and Theo’s Café, join in with the fun activities in our Childcare and Older Persons services and help computer learners using our IT Suite. If you work office hours or attend full time education you may consider joining our board of directors or helping with non-service activities like fundraising or promotion. Volunteers aged 16 to 25 years can record their time against the nationally recognised Saltire Awards. All volunteers will be asked to complete a PVG disclosure check to comply with legislation. Volunteering does not affect your entitlement to benefits.
