Volunteering Opportunities
Volunteering has always been about helping other people, however you may not have considered how much it can benefit you as well. Volunteering can help you make new friends, increase your confidence, learn new skills, gain work experience and strengthen your CV all whilst making a difference in the local community. If you are aged 15+ Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre offers a rewarding experience within a friendly and supportive environment. You don't need to have prior experience, as training will be provided at the Centre.
We have a variety of opportunities within our Centre's service areas. Volunteers can help with administration, clerical work, serve customers in our Food Store and Theo's Cafe, join in the fun activites in our Childcare and Older Person's Services, help our BeFriending team or even help computer learners in our IT suite. If you work office hours or attend full time education you may consider joining our board of directors or helping with non-service activities such as fundraising or promotion.
All volunteers will be asked to undergo a PVG disclosure check to comply with legislation. Volunteering will not affect your entitlement to benefits.
